So naturally, after 21 installments have already been released, farmers are now waiting for the 22nd installment with hope and anticipation.
The big question is simple: When will the next ₹2000 arrive?
But there’s something equally important to understand. Sometimes, a very small mistake can delay the payment — and most farmers don’t even realize where the problem is.
What Is PM Kisan Yojana and How Do Farmers Receive ₹6000?
Under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme, eligible small and marginal farmers receive ₹6000 per year as financial assistance.
This amount is transferred directly into their bank accounts in three equal installments of ₹2000 every four months.
So far, 21 installments have been successfully released. Now all eyes are on the 22nd installment.
When Can the 22nd Installment Be Released?
Last year, the February installment was released in the final week of the month. Based on that trend, many expect that the 22nd installment may be credited in the last week of February or before Holi.
However, it’s important to note that no official announcement has been made yet. Farmers are advised to rely only on official updates and avoid rumors circulating on social media.
Incomplete e-KYC Can Stop Your Installment
Here’s the most common reason payments get delayed.
Many farmers believe that once they register, their work is done. But completing e-KYC is mandatory. If your e-KYC status shows as pending, your installment may not be processed.
Your Aadhaar must be properly linked. Your registered mobile number must be verified. If you haven’t checked your status recently, it’s wise to log in to the official portal and confirm everything is updated.
Sometimes the issue is small — but the impact is significant.
Bank Account Errors Can Also Delay Payment
Another frequent issue is mismatch in bank details.
If your bank account number is incorrect, the IFSC code is wrong, or even your name spelling doesn’t match Aadhaar records, the transaction can fail.
Your Aadhaar must also be linked with your bank account. In some cases, accounts become inactive or KYC is incomplete at the bank’s end, which can stop the transfer.
Before the next installment is released, double-checking your bank details can save a lot of stress.
Land Records Must Be Updated
Only those farmers whose land records are verified and updated in state records are eligible under PM Kisan Yojana.
If there has been a land transfer, inheritance update, or name correction that hasn’t been reflected in official records, your payment may be withheld.
Many farmers realize too late that the issue was related to land records. Keeping these records updated is just as important as completing e-KYC.
