Upon application or inquiry, a Project Manager connects with the volunteer to discuss project options. The aim is to align their skills and interests with suitable projects that ensure meaningful impact.
Once the volunteer’s project is confirmed, support is provided for logistical arrangements:
Visa Assistance: Guidance and support with visa application process.
Vaccinations: Information and recommendations regarding necessary vaccinations.
Packing Guidelines: Advice on essential items to pack for their stay and work in India.
Safety Guidelines: Detailed briefing on safety measures and local protocols.
SIM Card: Assistance in obtaining a local SIM card for communication needs.
One month before the project starts, a team call is scheduled:
Job Roles: Detailed explanation of their responsibilities during the project.
Preparation: Guidance on any specific skills or knowledge they should prepare in advance to maximize their impact.
Regular check-ins and updates are conducted to facilitate a smooth transition for the volunteers. This includes addressing any concerns or queries they may have as they prepare to travel and volunteer in a new country.
(One Week Before Project Start)
– Collection of travel details (flight tickets, arrival times).
– Coordination of airport pick-up arrangements based on their travel schedule.
– Sharing of detailed project location and contact information well in advance.
– Volunteers share their arrival details including flight information with the organization.
– Pick-up details and contact information of the coordinator who will receive them at the airport are provided to volunteers in advance.
– Airport pick-up service is included in the project fee.
– A coordinator from the organization meets volunteers at the airport as per the scheduled arrival time to ensure a smooth transition from the airport to their accommodation.
– Volunteers are strongly advised to arrive at least a day before the project start date.
– Since most projects commence on Sundays, it is recommended to arrive by Friday night or Saturday morning.
– This early arrival allows volunteers time to rest and overcome jetlag before the orientation and project activities begin.
– Additional complimentary accommodation is provided for Friday and Saturday nights preceding the project start date.
– This accommodation helps volunteers settle in, adjust to the local environment, and prepare for the upcoming orientation and project activities.
– Volunteers are encouraged to arrive with a SIM card that has an active calling and/or internet data plan for India.
– This facilitates easy communication between the coordinator and volunteers upon arrival and throughout their stay.
– On the first day of arrival, volunteers are warmly welcomed by the project coordinator.
– An introduction to the local team and fellow volunteers is provided, fostering a sense of community and teamwork.
A comprehensive orientation session is conducted to familiarize volunteers with:
– Project goals and objectives.
– Their specific roles and responsibilities.
– Safety guidelines and emergency procedures.
– Cultural norms and etiquette in India.
– Practical information about daily schedules, meals, transportation, and facilities.
– Detailed information about the project location, local community, and the impact expected from their volunteer work is shared.
– Volunteers have the opportunity to ask questions and clarify any doubts regarding their roles or the project.
Volunteers are informed about various activities available during their free time:
– Weekend trips to nearby attractions or cultural sites.
– Visiting local monuments and participating in cultural activities.
– Exploring nightlife options and recreational activities in the area.
– An interactive session encourages volunteers to share their expectations, goals, and concerns about their volunteering experience.
– Opportunities for volunteers to suggest ideas or activities they would like to initiate during their stay.
– A volunteer dinner is organized, featuring games and activities to facilitate interaction among volunteers and the VQI team.
– This event helps volunteers get to know each other better and build camaraderie with the local team members.
– Volunteers are encouraged to provide feedback on the orientation process and ask any remaining questions.
– Clear communication channels are established for ongoing support throughout their volunteering period.

Volunteering at Pankh School, assisting the teaching staff and providing access to quality education for underprivileged kids
1. Preparing in advance for sessions to be taken

3. Organizing competitions once in two weeks with VQI and helping the kids to prep
City Exploration: Explore the local cityscape, visiting historical landmarks, and enjoying diverse shopping experiences.
Engage with Peers: Volunteers can connect with fellow volunteers sharing experiences, and discovering common interests.
Weekend Getaways: Plan day/ weekend trips to nearby cities or scenic spots, allowing volunteers to delve into local culture, cuisine, and natural beauty.
Weekends provide a well-rounded experience for volunteers to relax, explore, and connect, making the most of their time outside of their volunteering commitments in India.
– Located in the holy city of Rishikesh, the volunteer home is surrounded by a few kilometers of green grassland (Golfcourse) and mild forest. The river Ganga splits into three and the horizon encompasses the foothills of the Himalayas – The Holy Shivalik Mountains.
– The balcony opens to a panoramic view of lush green forests and its rich flora and fauna. A pandemonium of parrots can be spotted flocking around all day, the squeals of Grey Hornbill, chirps of other exotic birds and occasional cries of peacocks are pure music to the soul, and on some lucky days one may even spot a herd of wild deer (Sambar) or other members of the wilderness.
– Our Deluxe rooms provide great comfort and partial forest views, and
the Super-deluxe rooms are a blend of aesthetic ambience and stunning nature views. Spacious yoga halls: 1200 sq.ft enclosed yoga hall, 2500 sq.ft semi-open hall, and
2500 sq.ft open terrace with 360 mountain view, ideal for yoga, pranayam and meditation. Dedicated Spa room. Green land (1.5km grass lawn in the
vicinity) for yoga and sports. Serene location brimming with divinity
and stunning nature view.

– All means i.e. breakfast, lunch & dinner will be provided during the course of the program.
– Simple, hygienic, healthy and Ayurvedic food that will replenish your body
and mind is served at the volunteer house.
– Incase of dietary restraints, advance notice is requested so arrangements may be made. It is possible that all dietary conditions might not be met in case best possible solution may be offered to you by your Program Manager.

All programs attract a Registration Fee of USD 200 in addition to the Program Fee. This covers all pre-departure support services. The registration fee is valid for the entire year allowing you to continue using our travel support service after your volunteer project is over.
A 5% international banking fee is added at point of payment.
